NZ Chamber Music Competitions

Congratulations to all our high school members who took part in the recent NZ Chamber Music Contest and performed beautifully.  (Photos taken at Performance Evening) Auckland Semi-finalists (16 chosen from 120) Harlequin Trio with Gemma Price (oboe) and Carol Wang (bassoon), playing Trio for oboe, bassoon and piano by Francaix Zen Trio with Noah Rudd (oboe), playing Trio for flute, oboe and piano by Dring Zen Trio Harlequin Trio Reed Between the Lines Award Winners KBB Award for best group containing a wind, brass or percussion player Harlequin Trio Reed Between the Lines (oboes: Annabel Lovatt and Phillipa Mandeno, cor anglais: Gemma Price) playing Zehm, Theme and Variations on a theme by Hindemith   Junior Award for group containing  players from Years 9,10 and 11 Zen Trio

Performers' Evening June 26

Our next Performer's Evening will be on Tuesday 26 June. Where: KBB Music Central Showroom, 136 Karangahape Rd, Auckland Central When:  7.30pm (doors open at 7pm for warming up) Level: All Cost: Gold coin donation at the door for Auckland Secondary Schools Music Festival Trust Come along and play:solo pieces/studies solo + piano* - just one movement of a piece is fine. duets - with another double reeder/or other instrument chamber groups - double reeds or mixed *You will need to arrange your own pianist. Let us know if you have someone who would also be available to play for other people - or if you would like to be informed if this opportunity comes up. Please let us know by Tuesday 19 June if you are interested in playing. Include details of what you would like to play, other performers in your group and approximate length. This will be an informal occassion with no programme. Come along and try out your exam/competition pieces, use it to have a goal to work towards or just
